Guess how much I love you… Baby Shower

Guess How Much I Love is one of those books eveyone has in their nursery. I have loved reading this book to my boys and thought it would be a sweet theme for a baby shower. So… when my dear friend, Sarah, made the big announcement… I already knew the theme of her shower. Boy or girl, we were going to have garden baby shower inspired by this wonderful book.

Old wooden boxes, terra cotta pots, and lots of fresh veggies set the scene for the shower. A pink and white flower bunny was the centerpiece with flowers and greenery hanging from the chandelier. I absolutely love the way this turned out!

We had several copies of the book set up on the tables.

Guests were welcomed to the shower by a a custom chalkboard print set outside. :)

We had a hardback copy of the book set out for everyone to sign. I love that she’ll have this to read to baby Olivia. :)

You can always count on Whole Foods for the most beautiful flowers. I still can’t get over those blooms… absolutely gorgeous!

I have so many requests for this “wishes for baby” activity for baby shower, I know include it all my baby shower collection. I have seen people take the humorous route with their messages and others give the most heartfelt wishes for a new life.

We served chicken salad croissants, orzo pasta salad, veggies with dill dip, fresh fruit, cheese, and feta and onion pastries. It was a great menu for a garden shower.

We had plenty of options for something sweet. The naked cake was made by Ambrosia Bakery. We also had lemon squares, chocolate thumbprint
cookies, french macaroons, and a pecan praline torte. Everything was so tasty! :)

Have you discovered the frozen chocolate and vanilla macaroons at Trader Joe’s?? They are so delicious and so pretty! At $3.99 a dozen, you can’t go wrong picking up a few boxes for your next shower.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star {Baby Shower}

Twinkle Twinkle_baby shower

A dear friend, Nancy Starr, called to tell me the exciting news she was expecting… I told her I already knew the theme of the baby shower. Boy or girl, with Starr as your last name, going with a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star theme seemed very fitting. When I found out she was having a girl, pink and gold were an easy choice for the color palette. I made a diaper cake as the centerpiece for the table with touches of glitter here and there.

We decided on a brunch menu for the shower and served breakfast casserole, grits souffle, mini quiche, baked french toast, assorted muffins and petit fores, donut holes, and star cookies for a little something sweet.

I had a lot of fun working on all the little details for this baby shower. And it’s even more fun to see the guest of honor walk through the door. It was a gorgeaus day celebrating a very special little girl.
